What you will do

The field of cell insulation for battery electric vehicles is rapidly advancing, with tesa contributing significantly to the evolution of battery manufacturing. In this thesis, you will explore key factors influencing structural electrical insulation, examining the combined effects of tapes, surface treatments, and adhesives. The goal is to develop well‑supported recommendations that help establish tesa’s expertise in this emerging area.

  • You investigate process parameters for BEV cell insulation using tapes, pretreatments, and liquid glues.
  • You prepare parts, design and execute DoE‑based trials, and document results.
  • You analyze data with statistical methods to develop clear guidelines and next steps.
  • You translate findings into customer‑ready recommendations with application engineers.
  • You promote sustainability by assessing lightweight and recyclable adhesive concepts.

What you will need

  • You study a scientific/engineering subject such as technical engineering, chemical engineering or other related studies.
  • You have a hands‑on mentality and enjoy practical lab work.
  • You work independently, precisely, and reliably.
  • You communicate clearly and collaborate well in diverse teams.
  • You are proficient in MS Office.
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English (Level B2 or higher), German language skills are a plus.
