Responsibilities

Material Handler I

• Follow established procedures, processes, or policies.
• Operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials within the facility.
• Develop a good knowledge of the company and may be assigned to projects for career development.
• Learn the principles, practices, and processes in the function or discipline.
• Develop the business knowledge required for the full job.
• May resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisor depending on the level and complexity.
• Follow defined procedures and practices.
• Contact is typically with immediate supervisor and other members of the team in the immediate organization.
• Flex across different products and areas to support business needs.
• Perform forklift daily inspections.
• Accept responsibility for own actions and follow through on commitments.
• Participate in team meetings and exchange job-related information.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, attendance, and quality.
• Perform safe and effective operation of all equipment needed to perform job function.
• Practice safe working habits, following safety guidelines to operate and support company initiatives.
• Know the basic functions of the ERP system.
• Assist in training new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.
• Actively understand and participate with the Drive to Zero program.
• Other duties as assigned.

Material Handler II

• Use judgment in resolving issues or recommending solutions.
• Participate in project teams or lead portions of projects.
• Have thorough knowledge of the basic principles, practices and processes in the applicable discipline and a working knowledge of related fields.
• Provide resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems, exercising judgment to select methods and techniques for arriving at solutions.
• Contacts are typically with the supervisor and other members of the team or immediate organization but may interface with business partners.
• Contribute to improving processes, lead times, throughput, and cost.

Material Handler III

• Ability to cross‑train in different areas of need.
• Flex across different products and areas to support business needs.
• Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.
• Proficiently access information and perform transactions as needed within ERP system.
• Use initiative and judgment to lead problem solving and implement appropriate countermeasures.
• Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Requirements

Material Handler I

• Ability to operate or learn to operate material‑handling equipment.
• Identify and resolve basic problems.
• Effectively work in a team environment.
• Model positive and professional work ethics.
• Effective communication skills.

Material Handler II

• Must be effectively cross‑trained in multiple operations.
• Use advanced troubleshooting within the materials environment.
• Train other employees in established processes.
• Problem‑solving skills and interface with other departments.
• Strong communication skills.

Material Handler III

• 2 years of material handling/forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment and forklift certified.
