The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) is responsible for planning, executing, and validating the commissioning of mechanical systems in data centre construction projects. This role ensures that all systems are installed, tested, and operating according to design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Explore Your Tasks And Responsibilities
Develop and manage mechanical commissioning plans and schedulesOversee the commissioning of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, CRAC units, pumps, piping, and other mechanical infrastructurePerform functional performance testing and system integration checksPrepare commissioning documentation including test scripts, procedures, and reportsMaintain accurate records of commissioning activities and system performanceSupport the development of O&M manuals and handover documentationCollaborate with design engineers, construction teams, and vendors to ensure readiness for commissioningInterface with QA/QC teams to resolve issues identified during commissioningParticipate in client meetings and provide technical support during system turnoverEnsure all commissioning activities comply with local regulations, safety standards, and project specificationsIdentify and mitigate risks during commissioning phases
Show Your Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline5+ years of experience in mechanical commissioning, preferably in data centres or mission-critical facilitiesStrong understanding of mechanical systems and building automationFamiliarity with commissioning standards (ASHRAE, BSRIA, etc.)Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skillsCertified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or equivalentOSHA or other safety certificationsLEED or sustainability-related credentials (optional but beneficial)
