Freelance Mechanical Engineer – Rail Project (Frankfurt)

Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Contract: 12 months freelance
Language: Fluent German (English a plus)

Role
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support a major rail project in Frankfurt. The role covers design review, coordination, and oversight of mechanical systems within rail infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and review designs for HVAC, piping, and plant systems.
• Ensure compliance with DIN, VDI, and DB standards.
• Support procurement, installation, and integration of mechanical works.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
• Provide technical reports and updates in German.

Profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
• 5+ years’ experience, ideally in rail or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of German technical standards.
• Fluent German; English desirable.
