Mechanical Engineer - Medical Devices (f/m/d)

Your mission

As a Mechanical Design Engineer (f/m/d), you will take full end‑to‑end ownership of the mechanical design of PULMOTREE's proprietary product platforms. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and external development partners to drive mechanical concepts from initial idea to design freeze, guide them through verification and validation, and ultimately enable their transition to scalable industrial manufacturing.

In this pivotal role, you will help shape the future of our proprietary platform and contribute to the long‑term success of our drug delivery device portfolio.

Your profile

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven professional experience as a mechanical design engineer (min 3y) with a high degree of initiative and ownership.

Technical Skills

• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong hands‑on experience in mechanical engineering, especially in the design and optimization of plastic components.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) as well as design transfer processes.
• Experience contributing to Verification & Validation (V&V) activities and preparing regulatory‑relevant documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and other strict regulatory environments; experience in medical devices or pharmaceuticals is a strong plus.

Soft Skills

• Strong problem‑solving mindset and structured analytical approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to take full ownership and independently drive projects forward.

Languages

• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• German or additional languages are a plus.
