Mechanical Package Manager - Data Centre

A leading international engineering and construction contractor is seeking a Mechanical Package Manager to join a major data centre project in Frankfurt. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment, delivering high‑quality engineering solutions on a flagship project.

The ideal candidate will be driven, detail‑oriented, and focused on delivering best‑in‑class mechanical systems across complex construction projects. Experience in data centres is advantageous, though candidates from other high‑tech or regulated environments will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all mechanical work packages from pre‑construction through to commissioning and handover.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure delivery to quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Coordinate closely with design, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure mechanical systems align with project specifications and integration requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site‑specific procedures.
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
  • Track procurement, logistics, and installation of mechanical equipment (e.g. chillers, AHUs, pipework, ducting, etc.).
  • Monitor progress against the programme and proactively resolve issues to avoid delays.
  • Participate in regular progress meetings, providing updates on package status.
  • Support commissioning planning and execution for mechanical systems.
  • Maintain strong communication with the main contractor, client, and consultants.

Requirements

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
  • Proven experience managing mechanical packages on large‑scale construction projects (ideally data centres, pharmaceutical, or industrial).
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, and ventilation.
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑spec environments with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiar with QA/QC processes, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety standards.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Right to work in the region (e.g. EU or UK as applicable) and willingness to travel if required.
