Medical Director Clinical Development

We are seeking an experienced Medical Director or Senior Director to act as the Global Medical Lead for a Liver Cancer (Hepatocellular Carcinoma) clinical development program. This role carries overall medical accountability for the study and will focus on strategic clinical leadership , supported by two contract Medical Monitors .

The role sits within a growing oncology and immuno-oncology portfolio and requires strong, current oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Global Clinical Medical Lead for a Liver Cancer study
• Provide strategic medical oversight and act as the key medical decision-maker
• Act as the escalation point for safety and medical issues from Medical Monitors
• Lead and oversee two contract Medical Monitors , providing guidance and direction
• Review and interpret safety data, ensuring appropriate risk assessment and actions
• Drive clinical development strategy in collaboration with Clinical Operations, Safety, Regulatory, and Biometrics
• Provide medical input into protocols, amendments, and clinical study reports
• Lead investigator and KOL relationships , acting as the primary medical contact
• Support regulatory interactions and external scientific engagement as required

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent)
• Formal training in Oncology preferred
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience in pharma or biotech clinical development
• Strong oncology experience required
• Strong background in solid tumours ; Liver Cancer experience preferred
• Immuno-oncology experience highly desirable
• Experience acting as a Medical Lead and/or Medical Monitor on global studies
• Ability to work in a strategic leadership role while remaining hands-on
• Willingness to work hybrid in Munich or travel regularly if based remotely
