Job Overview

As a freelance Medical Interpreter German - Arabic (m/w/d) , you will accompany Arabic-speaking patients during their medical appointments in Berlin, Germany and translate between Arabic and German.

Your main responsibility is to ensure clear communication between medical professionals and patients regarding medical complaints, conditions, treatment options, and care instructions.

This role is part-time and on an as-needed basis, supporting multiple freelancers.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

Provide in-person interpretation during medical appointments.
Interpret spoken communication accurately in both languages.
Assist patients in understanding medical terminology and procedures.
Support patients with completing paperwork like consent forms and questionnaires.
Create a supportive environment by providing cultural and emotional support as needed.

Your Profile

Fluent in German and Arabic.
Previous experience as a medical interpreter.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Knowledge of medical terminology in both languages.
Understanding of Arabic-native patients' cultural context.
Impartial and neutral during interpretation.
Willingness to travel to medical appointments.
