Mission Control Systems Engineer - EUMETSAT (f/m/d)

Who You Are

We are looking for a Software Engineer with working experience in either the development, operation & maintenance of satellite control systems (e.g. C-MCS, SCOS-2000, MICONYS Suite), or larger real-time industrial process‑control systems. Ideally, someone who already has gained relevant experience in providing support to Mission Operation Teams and has been involved in related IV&V (integration, verification and validation) campaigns or services.

As part of our multi‑national project teams, you will be providing crucial support to the operational teams at EUMETSAT in the validation, maintenance and operations of satellite mission control systems and auxiliary systems.

On the projects you will collaborate closely directly with the Mission Operations Teams and in coordination with the Client Technical Manager. You will be in charge of supporting Ground Segment Engineering activities such as:

• Requirement reviews, IV&V activities for EUMETSAT's MOF of Meteosat Third Generation (MTG)
• Mission Control System support, e.g. following C‑MCS development & maintenance following formal software engineering processes
• Automation System Support – provision of SubSystem Level Validation Testing related to APEX System

What You Will Focus On

• Support to the Ground Segment engineering activities
• Mission Control System support on following development and maintenance of Mission Control Applications following formal software engineering processes
• Participation in verification readiness reviews and verification testing campaigns both internal and at client site
• Automation System Support – provision of SubSystem Level Validation Testing related to APEX System

What You Bring

• Proven experience in the domain of satellite Mission Control Systems and in maintaining large scale software systems in an operational environment
• Familiarisation with documentation such as Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), Architectural Design Documents (ADD), Interface Control Documents (ICD) and Test Plans
• Integration and verification testing of complex Mission Control System applications
• Good knowledge of programming and scripting languages (i.e. C++/Java, bash, Python)
• Experience with Linux Operating System Environments
