MLOps Engineer (d/f/m)

In order to support our AI and Analytics Germany team, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a MLOps Engineer (d/f/m). The AI & Analytics unit is a pioneer of innovative AI technologies to drive internal efficiencies and deliver business-critical AI solutions.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Science / AI Engineering development teams and cooperate in an agile environment to ensure seamless deployment of new functionalities and features of the internal GenAI platform.
• Implement and manage MLOps practices, including support of continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) for AI models, model versioning, performance monitoring, etc.
• Manage and optimise the GenAI platform's infrastructure across on‑premise, cloud (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure), and containerised (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) environments.
• Develop and maintain scripts for operational tasks, deployments, and system health checks.
• Provide operational support for the GenAI platform, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Monitor and track systems and infrastructure performance against the service‑level agreements (SLAs) and ensure operational conditions.
• Provide ad‑hoc support for critical GenAI platform issues to ensure continuous performance.
• Document operational procedures, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the GenAI platform's stability, performance, and scalability by close interactions with GenAI product managers and relevant teams.
• Ensure compliance with security and data governance policies.
• Awareness and support of best practices for reduction of environmental footprint of the implemented digital product/services.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Master level (or equivalent) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML), Data Science, Computer Science with specialization in cloud computing, DevOps and/or AI would be ideal.
• or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or other related discipline in combination with broad professional experience.
• 5+ years in MLOps/DevOps, specialising in CI/CD automation and infrastructure management for GenAI platforms across hybrid‑cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Extensive experience in operational support and management of deployed AI models and technology stack within highly regulated Defence and/or Aerospace industries, ensuring adherence to data governance, security, and defence‑grade compliance standards.
• Languages: German and English at negotiation level, Spanish and/or French would be a plus.
