NW Deployment Planner, Data Centre Network Scaling, Network Deployment Planning - Planning, Implementation and Coordination Team

The Global Network Delivery organization is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our growing Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The team responsibilities involve scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations. They will review project forecasts and assure physical infrastructure resources are available for their execution.

The Network Deployment Planner will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to the local data center installation & deployment technicians to facilitate smooth capacity execution.

Key job responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to timelines.
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes always with an eye on improvement.
• Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
• Knowledge of network cabling and optic types.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Familiarity with common networking terms.
• Excellent judgement and analytical skills, ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.
• Coordination of design, project timeline/schedule and construction milestones.
• Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years data center networking experience working with optics and bulk fiber.
• 3+ years experience working with large scaling infrastructure deployments.
• 3+ years experience working with 3rd party vendors on large projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years data center networking experience working with optics, bulk fiber and a firm understanding of power and cooling.
• 5+ years experience working with large scaling infrastructure deployments.
• 3+ years experience working new data center builds and the ability to successfully context switch between several high priority efforts.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
