Operations Manager, Freight Forwarding - Relocate to Vietnam

Overview

Our client, a global leader in freight forwarding and logistics, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This is a rare opportunity for a driven professional with a background in freight forwarding to step into a high-impact operational role with clear progression to senior leadership within a few years.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily freight forwarding operations, with a key focus on project logistics
• Lead and support a team of 5–6 logistics professionals to ensure service excellence
• Collaborate with local and global teams to deliver customized, cost-effective solutions to clients
• Contribute to business development by supporting key account growth and operational implementation
• Ensure compliance with international logistics standards and company policies

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in freight forwarding operations; background in ocean freight and/or project cargo is highly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities; prior team management experience is a plus
• Strong commercial awareness and commitment to delivering client success
• Willingness to relocate to Vietnam and adapt to a new cultural and professional environment
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a strong asset but not required
