Develop state-of-the‑art optimization solvers for the steel industry
Understand and analyse the complex business logic, constraints and objectives of our customers
Translate the business logic into high-performance algorithms and
mathematical optimization models
Validate the performance and quality of your models by proper test- and benchmarks sets
Manage and maintain the embedded role of the solver in a broader, modern backend architecture
Explain and document your approaches and ideas to the team
Experience in developing solutions for difficult combinatorial optimization problems from the industry
Strong background in Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP), Linear Programming (LP) and combinatorial optimization algorithms
Ability to build MIP models for real-world problems
Experience in using optimization solving software like: Gurobi, Xpress, SCIP, HiGHS, CBC ...
Strong C++ background (preferably C++20 or higher)
Ability to explain complex concepts to your team
Experience working in agile environments, containers and CI/CD concepts
English is required, Fluency in German is a plus
