We are seeking a passionate, analytically driven Senior Strategic Sourcer or Industry Expert to enhance our procurement processes in the category of Packaging and Pallets. This role is perfect for seasoned professionals who have an in-depth understanding of the packaging industry from a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and supply chain perspective. This global role will involve strategic oversight across major markets including the US, Germany, France, and Italy, and will require regular visits to suppliers and distribution centers to ensure the effectiveness of our packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for packaging and pallets, focusing on enhancing specifications and integrating sustainable solutions.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to ensure competitive pricing, quality, durability, and sustainability.
• Engage with new and existing suppliers globally to negotiate contracts that align with our sustainability and cost-effectiveness goals.
• Conduct regular visits to suppliers and distribution centers to assess the application and performance of packaging materials and pallets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their packaging needs, ensuring alignment with broader business and environmental objectives.
• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with our sustainability standards and goals for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in the packaging industry, either in a strategic sourcing role or a senior industry-specific position, with a strong understanding of industry standards and TCO.
• Expertise in evaluating and improving packaging specifications and implementing sustainable packaging solutions.
• Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms that align with both cost and sustainability objectives.
• Comfortable working in a global setup, with a deep understanding of various international markets, particularly in Europe and the US.
• Willingness to travel to suppliers and distribution centers as needed to ensure product quality and supply chain efficiency.
