Your seat to fill :

• Act as a strategic advisor on all aspects of patent law, including German, European, and international utility and design rights
• Lead the development and execution of global intellectual property strategies aligned with business objectives
• Drive the identification and protection of high-value innovations in close collaboration with inventors, engineers, and senior leadership
• Oversee and support in drafting, prosecution, and management of our patent portfolio across multiple jurisdictions
• Evaluate third‑party IP landscapes to guide freedom‑to‑operate assessments, clearance strategies, and competitive positioning
• Provide expert legal counsel in patentability, validity, infringement, and enforcement matters, including pre‑litigation and litigation support
• Coordinate and manage communications with external patent attorneys, IP offices, and legal stakeholders to ensure high‑quality and timely filings
• Act as internal go‑to expert on IP‑related risks and opportunities in cross‑functional teams (R&D, Product Management, Legal, Procurement, etc.)
• Mentor junior IP staff and contribute to the ongoing improvement of IP processes and best practices

Your stroll to CYBEX :

• Fully qualified European or German Patent Attorney
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical discipline
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in patent law, including significant in‑house or law firm exposure to international patent prosecution and enforcement
• Expertise in managing complex, cross‑border IP matters and aligning IP strategies with broader business goals is a plus
• High degree of self‑motivation, autonomy, and reliability in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a precise and structured approach to complex matters
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English
• Proficient in MS Office applications and familiar with patent research tools and databases
