Personal Financial Counselor, PFC-Ansbach, GE

This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations, offering a full breadth of personal financial counseling to service members and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering important life stages.
• Responds to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling and other electronic modes of communication such as web‑based chat or video teleconference.
• Manages duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision, sharing information on trends and issues.
• Participates in training, quality improvement committees and other contract activities as assigned.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may also be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen who speaks fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish required if contract demands.
• Must obtain Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process.
• Must hold a certification: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Salary and Benefits
