Offer Description

Applications are invited for PhD positions (3 years, 66% TVL E13, Munz Group) in Molecular Inorganic Chemistry. Your project will target carbide and carbyne transfer focusing on either (i) organic reagents for carbon atom transfer, (ii) main‑group compounds / molecular materials for optoelectronics, or (iii) transition metal complexes and clusters for small‑molecule and bond activation.

Eligibility criteria

• Curiosity and motivation to acquire and generate new knowledge and pushing the frontiers of science:
• Dedication for excellence and scientific enthusiasm
• Good team spirit and open mindedness
• Experience in synthesis, experience in handling air‑sensitive compounds
• Experience in characterization and synthesis of solid‑state materials is a plus
• Experience in mechanochemistry is a plus
• Knowledge of (or interest in) computational chemistry is a plus
• German language skills are desirable, yet not mandatory
