PhD Researcher in Optical Engineering and Photonics (m/w/d)

• Develop cutting-edge optical measurement equipment for scientific and industrial applications
• Perform hands-on experimental research in optical engineering, (integrated) photonics and laser technologies
• Advance state-of-the-art measurement systems performance through innovative engineering solutions and system integration
• Analyze and optimize system design, packaging, and manufacturing to miniaturize sensors
• Work closely with international partners in collaborative R&D projects
• Present findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals

Profile

• Master of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related technical field with eligibility for PhD enrollment at German universities (3-year PhD project)
• Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• Independent, proactive working style with high commitment and motivation
• Strong conceptual thinking and analytical skills
• Willingness to travel, including extended research stays at partner institutions
• Interest in interdisciplinary research and international collaboration
