Position Overview

The Chair Group of Production and Resource Economics at the TUM School of Management and the TUM School of Life Sciences is offering a Ph.D. student / junior researcher position. The initial appointment is for two years with the possibility of extension. Salary is in accordance with the German State Regulated Public Salary Scale (starting at TV‑L E13 2/3).

Key Responsibilities

Conduct cutting‑edge empirical research in one or more of the following areas:
- productivity and efficiency measurement at various levels
- policy design and impact analysis
- resource allocation, growth and welfare evaluation
- technology diffusion and firm‑level innovation
Publish internationally peer‑reviewed papers and present findings at conferences.
Participate in nationally and internationally funded projects.
Possibly provide teaching support at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
Engage in international networking and collaboration, with explicit encouragement to collaborate in South America, Asia, or Africa.
Integrate into the TUM Graduate School training programmes within the School of Life Sciences or the School of Management.

Qualifications

Excellent or very‑good university degree in economics.
Strong analytical and methodological skills, with a focus on quantitative data analysis (econometrics, statistics, machine learning).
High motivation, ability to work independently while maintaining a strong team orientation.
Excellent spoken and written English; willingness to learn a working level of German.
