PHP Developer (m/f/d)

Overview

Teveo is seeking a dedicated and experienced PHP Developer (m/f/d) to take ownership of our Customer Loyalty API. In this role, you will be responsible for improving and maintaining the API that powers our customer loyalty program. You will collaborate closely with internal business teams and external app developers to ensure that application functionality aligns with business goals and that any issues are resolved efficiently. Your technical expertise, strong communication, and problem-solving skills will be key to enhancing the customer experience. Key Responsibilities

• Software Engineering : Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable PHP backend services for the Customer Loyalty API. Ensure code reliability, security, and performance through clean architecture, testing, and continuous improvement.
• Requirements Alignment : Collaborate with IT product owners and business departments to ensure application requirements are clearly defined and aligned with business objectives.
• Agency Collaboration : Work closely with external development partners to implement new features, enhancements, and fixes.
• Ownership Mindset : Act as an entrepreneur within the organization. Take full ownership of your services and continuously develop them to reach their highest potential.
• Self-Management : Manage your own backlog, coordinate with stakeholders, and prioritize work effectively.
• Documentation and Training : Maintain comprehensive documentation of application configurations and processes, and provide training and support to end-users when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience : Several years of professional experience in backend software development, ideally within an eCommerce environment, with a focus on PHP-based applications and APIs.
• Technical Expertise : Deep understanding of PHP, preferably with modern frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony, and solid experience in designing, integrating, and maintaining RESTful APIs. Familiar with cloud-native technologies and deployment workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Software Engineering and Quality : Strong grasp of software architecture, design patterns, and clean code principles (SOLID). Committed to writing maintainable, testable, and scalable code through object-oriented design and test-driven development (TDD).
• Database and Infrastructure : Experience with relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL) and caching systems (Redis). Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern DevOps workflows is a plus.
• Work Ethic : Demonstrates an independent, solution-oriented, and team-oriented work style, with a proven track record in managing large software projects.
• Communication Skills : Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Language Proficiency : Excellent German skills (at least C1 level) and fluent in English, both written and spoken. A residence in Germany is required for this role.
