PMO & Strategic Portfolio Management

mrge Hamburg

Stellenbeschreibung:

Overview

The mrge Group is in a phase of strong connection and transformation. The careful guidance and prioritization of our cross‑organizational projects are essential factors for success. We are seeking a seasoned, structured, and communicative supportive leader to foster and coordinate our central Project Management Office (PMO).

Your Tasks

Your core objective is to foster a clear, transparent governance structure, optimize portfolio prioritization, and ensure the successful implementation of all top initiatives. You serve as the central point of contact for the C‑Level to ensure strategic alignment and transparency at all times.

Core Responsibilities

1. PMO Guidance and Portfolio Governance

  • Portfolio Management: Ongoing guidance and careful prioritization of the entire strategic project portfolio to ensure the optimal allocation of resources toward the most important organizational goals.
  • Fostering Governance: Shaping and implementing uniform Project Management Standards (methodology, templates, tools) for all cross‑organizational projects.
  • Process Guidance: Establishing clear program structures, processes, and regular alignment formats (e.g., Portfolio Reviews, Project Meetings) to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Steering Committee: Fostering, coordinating, and facilitating the Steering Committee (or comparable bodies) to ensure strategic guidance and decision‑making at the highest level.

2. Stakeholder Management & C‑Level Reporting

  • C‑Level Transparency: Preparing clear, decision‑supportive, and regular reports on the overall status of the portfolio, the risk situation, and necessary strategic choices for the C‑Level.
  • Effective Stakeholder Management: Collaborative communication, coordination, and alignment of all internal and external key stakeholders to create kinship and commitment for shared goals.
  • Risk and Dependency Management: Thoughtful identification, assessment, and guided handling of dependencies and risks across the entire project portfolio.

3. Nurturing Success and Coaching

  • Success Gauging: Shaping and overseeing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the portfolio and individual projects to make the contribution to organizational success measurable.
  • Resource Optimization: Monitoring resource utilization in the projects and providing strategic suggestions for optimizing resource allocation.
  • Coaching: Offering support to individual Project Professionals and teams in applying the PMO standards and overcoming obstacles.

Your Profile

  • A minimum of 5 years of seasoned professional experience in a guiding PMO, Program, or Project Management capacity, ideally with a focus on the management of a strategic portfolio.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain reliable Program Governance structures (Steering Committees, centralized reporting).
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills at the C‑Level. Understanding of how to clearly and kindly present complex matters tailored to the target community.
  • High competence in Project and Portfolio Management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Prince2, or advanced Agile/Hybrid approaches).
  • Deep understanding of shared business processes and the ability to translate strategic goals into concrete PMO guidelines and implementation plans.
  • Fluent German and English communication ability, written and spoken.

What We Offer

  • Collaboratively shape an innovative, growth‑oriented, and international corporate group from the outset, embracing the opportunity to take on an essential key role.
  • Take on significant responsibility and become an essential part of a like‑minded team that wants to grow together.
  • Benefit from the opportunity for high self‑guidance and flexible working time models.
  • Enjoy first‑class social benefits: 30 days of paid leave, state‑of‑the‑art technical equipment, an individual development plan, the SpenditCard (monthly budget of €50), and much more.
  • Elevate your expertise, talents, and career to the next level by growing together with us and setting standards.
