The Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at Helmholtz Munich, together with the Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), seeks a highly qualified and motivated Post‑doctoral researcher to develop a novel quantum‑enhanced microscope.
The successful candidate will pioneer quantum‑enabled methodologies for biomedical research, focusing on a next‑generation microscope that integrates visible‑light and mid‑infrared microscopy with quantum techniques. The role covers the full pipeline from conceptual design and instrument development to performance characterisation and application in biological tissue, providing an opportunity to shape the technology from foundations to first biomedical use cases.
The position offers a 2‑year contract with the possibility of extension, a competitive salary in line with TV EntgO Bund EG 13, and opportunities for career development, continued education, and international exposure.
We welcome applications from talented people irrespective of gender, cultural background, nationality, ethnicity, sexual identity, physical abilities, religion, or age. The position is suitable for disabled persons; severely disabled applicants will be given preference where suitability, aptitude and professional performance are essentially equal.
Submit a comprehensive online application, including a letter of motivation, CV, and academic transcripts (preferably in English).
