This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach

This position has a hybrid setup with regular work from the site.

This Position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will closely collaborate with statisticians and data scientists, provide statistical‑methodological expertise and develop methodologically sound, pragmatic solutions to enable quantitative evidence integration for informed decision‑making.
  • You will evaluate, adapt and enhance complex statistical methods for a holistic evidence generation. By prototyping and developing ready‑to‑use toolkits including manuals and deployment guides, you will promote their implementation in our business.
  • Furthermore, you will provide and contribute to the development of applied statistical‑methodological learning modules.
  • You will define and supervise the technical and scientific work of interns and students at the bachelor and master level and contribute to their professional journey.
  • Moreover, you will compellingly present your insights and quantitatively illustrate their application in clinical development to both internal stakeholders and the scientific community.
  • Additionally, you will contribute with your expertise to cross‑functional working groups, industry collaborations and partnerships with academic experts.

Requirements

  • PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (e.g., Psychology, Epidemiology) with proven expertise in evidence synthesis methods such as meta‑analysis, network meta‑analysis (frequentist and Bayesian), and population‑adjusted indirect comparisons
  • Knowledge of modern methodological concepts relevant to evidence synthesis (e.g., causal inference, uncertainty quantification, Bayesian analysis, machine learning) is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in statistical programming (preferably R) and experience with tools like Quarto and R‑Shiny; ability to implement complex statistical concepts
  • Experience in the evaluation and research of statistical methodology
  • Experience in data visualization and storytelling to communicate insights effectively
  • Ability to provide statistical consultancy and deliver training on advanced methods; experience in cross‑disciplinary collaboration is an advantage
  • Solid understanding of clinical development processes and demonstrated ability to work in a global, matrix environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
