We are seeking, by March 2026, a PostDoc to work on the synthesis and characterization of soluble silicon clusters. The project is experimentally oriented and well‑suited for candidates with a solid background in synthetic inorganic or organometallic chemistry.

Contract Details

• Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate
• Start date: March 2026
• Duration: 1.5 years (extension possible)
• Employment volume: 100% of standard working time
• Salary: E13 TV‑L (German public service salary scale)

Responsibilities

• Planning and conducting inorganic and organic chemical syntheses
• Independent and creative development of the research project
• Evaluation and interpretation of experimental results
• Presentation of results in group meetings and conferences
• Preparation of publications
• Maintenance of laboratory standards and equipment
• Co‑supervision and teamwork with students
• German language skills are an advantage but not required

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry
• Experience in preparative inorganic and/or organometallic chemistry
• Experience with functionalization and characterization methods
• Experience with inert‑gas techniques (Schlenk line, glove box)
• Experience with standard analytical methods (NMR, MS, IR, UV/Vis)

Career Development

Possibility to develop independent research proposals or prepare for a junior group or habilitation.
