PostDoc Position (f/m/d) – Department of Mathematics and Natural Science (Applied Functional Analysis Group)

Technische Universität Ilmenau invites applications for a PostDoc Position (f/m/d) in the Applied Functional Analysis Group. The role starts under a fixed‑term contract (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz) at a salary of EG 13 TV‑L.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research within the group, aiming at high‑impact publications.
• Deliver teaching units (≈3 h/week).
• Supervise examinations.

Qualifications

• Completed Master’s (or equivalent) in mathematics.
• PhD in mathematics with excellent credentials.
• Strong background in spectral theory of unbounded operators, perturbation theory, self‑adjoint operators, and linear relations (multi‑valued operators).
• Proficiency in English (B2+).

Desirable: experience in interdisciplinary collaborations with control engineering, computer science, or robotics.
