The Renné Laboratory at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) investigates molecular mechanisms of translational thromboinflammation, with a particular focus on the inorganic mediator polyphosphate (polyP). We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to study the roles of polyphosphate in metabolic and thromboinflammatory diseases of high clinical relevance. The project combines ex vivo analyses of polyphosphate metabolism and signalling with in vivo models of thromboinflammation and metabolism.
This position offers an exceptional opportunity to grow scientifically within a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment, advancing cutting‑edge translational polyphosphate research with strong clinical and mechanistic impact.
Contract: 2‑year fixed term, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position.
Candidate will design and perform ex vivo and in vivo experiments to elucidate the role of polyphosphate in metabolic and thromboinflammatory pathways, analyze data, and communicate findings through publications and presentations. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team will be essential.
Please note that employment is contingent upon proof of immunization or immunity against the measles virus, in accordance with applicable legal and medical requirements. Documentation (e.g., vaccination certificate) must be provided before employment begins.
