Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/x) - Molecular Radiation Biology and Genome Stability

About The Position
The Radiation Biology Department is dedicated to investigating the biological effects of ionizing radiation and developing protection strategies for space and aviation. In a dynamic scientific environment, we study the molecular mechanisms of the DNA damage response, particularly in relation to X-ray and space radiation.

Your tasks

• Conduct functional genetic screens (CRISPR/Cas9) to analyze DNA repair pathways
• Carry out radiation biology experiments both at the institute and at international heavy-ion accelerator facilities (e.g., GSI, HIMAC, GANIL)
• Present results at international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
• Contribute actively to third-party funding proposals
• Supervise students and doctoral researchers in experimental work

Your Qualifications

• Experience with cell culture, genetic modification of cell lines, proteomics, and modern microscopy methods
