Postdoctoral Researcher for DFG-funded Cluster of Excellence “TransforM – Munich Center for Transformative Technologies and Societal Change”

TransforM brings together the expertise of 25 Principal Investigators across leading research institutions, including TUM, LMU Munich, the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, the ifo Institute, and ZEW Mannheim. The position is embedded in Focus Area 1 (Opportunity & Design) and requires regular presence at TUM Campus Straubing, Munich and Garching.
Responsibilities
- Conduct high‑quality, independent research related to innovation, sustainability, and transformative change within the TransforM research agenda.
- Coordinate research activities in Focus Area 1, collaborating with PIs, doctoral researchers, and external partners across TUM, LMU, MPI, ifo, and ZEW.
- Contribute to joint publications, workshops, scientific exchange formats, and reporting within the Cluster of Excellence.
- Support strategic and administrative coordination processes in Focus Area 1.
Requirements
- Excellent doctoral degree in management with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, or a related field.
- Outstanding research record, ideally demonstrated through peer‑reviewed publications or strong working papers.
- Strong methodological skills (qualitative and/or quantitative).
- Experience in project coordination, preferably in innovation, sustainability, or transformative change contexts.
- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary environments.
- Outstanding command of written and spoken English; German skills are an asset but not required.
