Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Virology (m/f/d)

Background: The “MAC’n FLU” research group, which is funded by the Emmy Noether Program of the DFG, explores the complex interplay between macrophages and influenza A viruses at the Institute of Virology in Freiburg. By combining single-cell RNA sequencing, phosphoproteomics and molecular virology approaches, we aim to uncover how infections shape macrophage responses and drive viral pathogenesis.

Your profile:

• PhD in virology, infection biology, or related fields
• proven experience in molecular virology, host‑pathogens interactions, and interested in immunology
• independent, highly motivated researcher eager to adapt to novel technologies and methodologies
• demonstrated collaborative skills and commitment to scientific excellence
• experience working under BSL-3 conditions
• excellent written and spoken English (CEFR level C1 or equivalent)
