Tesla’s drive unit development team is looking for skilled and motivated (power) electronic/electrical engineering students to push the power electronics propelling our vehicles to the next level. The team is presently working to improve the current - and design the next - generation of traction inverters and is looking for students aspiring to grow technically and personally while contributing to projects that are critical to the team’s success. What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot traction inverter hardware and support high-volume manufacturing and field studies.
• Characterize and model power semiconductors and traction inverters performance.
• Develop and test circuit technologies to improve traction inverter performance.
• Collaborate with modeling, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams.

What You’ll Bring

• Currently doing M.Sc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or the equivalent in experience, and evidence of exceptional ability.
• Hands‑on experience with design and testing (high voltage) power converters and PCBA.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies) and circuit simulation tools.
• Proven interest in electrical/electronic design engineering through extracurricular activities and projects.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Hands‑on experience with analyzing and testing high voltage power semiconductors (switching waveforms and loss mechanisms).
• Understanding of schematics, datasheets, and application notes.
• Familiarity in a programming language such as Matlab and/or Python.
