We are looking for a passionate and proficient industrial specialist with expertise in power system analysis/management and high‑level programming. In an inter‑disciplinary environment, you will drive cutting‑edge innovation for complex systems in power grid applications.

Impact / Responsibilities

• Design innovative approaches for grid operation and deliver them as robust software modules.
• Translate real power‑system problems into rigorous models and final solutions for customers.
• Collaborate with a global inter‑disciplinary team of researchers and engineers to drive development from concept to production.
• Build relationships within the company and actively share knowledge and expertise; interact with local and global external partners including universities, start‑ups and vendors.
• Clearly communicate concepts to software developers, implementation teams and customers; produce clear design documents and developer‑facing examples/notebooks that enable reuse.

Qualifications / Background

• Master’s degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven expertise in modelling and steady‑state analyses of power grids, demonstrated by hands‑on software development.
• Knowledge in mathematical optimization applied to power systems and modern numerical solvers (e.g., MIP/NLP, stochastic; tools such as Gurobi, CPLEX, Ipopt). Experience with machine learning and/or AI is a plus.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, Rust or a similar high‑level programming language is required; Python and/or Matlab for analytics and rapid prototyping are a plus.
• Experience with state‑of‑the‑art software engineering techniques (version control, code reviews, testing, CI/CD) and integrating solution algorithms into applications; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, parallel/distributed computing, GPU, OpenMP or MPI is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills in English, team‑player attitude, initiative and creativity.
