Power Trader (EU)

Our client a fast-growing international energy trading house, active across power, gas, and environmental markets. As a European Power Trader, you will be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies across spot, intraday, and forward markets.

Power Trader Responsibilities;

• Trade European power markets (intraday, day-ahead, forward/derivatives) to maximize desk profitability.
• Identify, execute, and optimize trading strategies, leveraging both fundamental and quantitative insights.
• Monitor supply/demand fundamentals, interconnectors, renewables, weather patterns, and regulatory changes.
• Actively manage risk exposure, ensuring compliance with limits, controls, and regulatory frameworks.

Power Trader experience;

• 3–10 years of proven trading experience in European power markets.
• Strong knowledge of continental and UK power hubs (Germany, France, Nordics, Italy, Spain, CEE, UK).
• Track record of delivering P&L through both speculative and structured trading.
• Proficiency in trading platforms such as EPEX, Nord Pool, ICE, and Trayport.
• Solid analytical skills; ability to work with large datasets (Python, SQL, VBA an advantage).
