About The Team

Our Finance Strategy & Transformation team leads initiatives that redefine the Finance function for the future. We operate at the intersection of finance, technology, and strategy, partnering with senior leadership to design innovative operating models, optimize processes, and implement digital transformation programs that enable agility and efficiency across the Allianz Group.

Role Overview

As a Principal Consultant, you will lead critical workstreams within Finance Transformation programs, shaping the future of Allianz’s Finance organization. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, drive strategic initiatives, and mentor team members to deliver impactful results.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver complex Finance Transformation projects by leveraging your experience in finance operations and functions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Own workstreams and manage client relationships, providing guidance to junior colleagues and executing on project deliverables, timelines, and day-to-day operations.
• Report directly to the Engagement Manager, ensuring transparency on progress, risks, and dependencies. Proactively provide clarity and action plans, anticipating potential pain points and addressing them before they arise.
• Analyze business needs and design innovative solutions that enhance finance processes, operating models, and digital capabilities.
• Drive thought leadership by contributing to pitches, developing solution concepts, and identifying new opportunities for value creation.
• Coach and mentor junior consultants, fostering capability development and a high-performance culture.
• Ensure effective stakeholder management and maintain strong client partnerships throughout project lifecycles.

Key Requirements

• University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of consulting or project management experience, ideally in Finance Transformation within insurance or financial services.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of AI frameworks, leverage AI tools in everyday tasks, and consult clients on AI adoption for successful business transformation.
• Proven track record in Finance Transformation programs and deep expertise in at least one area: Accounting, Controlling, Risk Management, Actuarial, or Finance Operations.
• Strong understanding of Finance processes and ability to quickly grasp complex issues.
• Excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Nice To Have

• Extra-occupational trainings (e.g., CFA, chartered accountant, actuary).
• Experience in shared services/global business services.
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
• International experience and additional language skills (German or others).
