Principal Delivery Engineer

About the Role

The Principal Delivery Engineer is the liaison between the Delivery team (including the Engineering team based in the London corporate office) and the Frankfurt data centre campus teams. You will provide oversight and coordination of projects from RIBA Stage 3 through to completion and handover, ensuring they meet technical standards and stay within budget and schedule. This role offers the opportunity to build relationships with internal parties as well as consultants and contractors, seeing projects through to real-world installation and gaining a broad set of skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule, to meet objectives effectively and efficiently.


• Ensure project compliance with industry standards, quality requirements and government/local authority regulations.


• Lead the delivery of the project and the overall design and assist consultants in achieving cost-effective and resilient designs.


• Provide technical support and guidance across all stages of the project lifecycle.


• Conduct project reviews and create detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.


• Facilitate communication across project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any issues promptly.


• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within projects.

Key Requirements

• Excellent technical knowledge of data centre systems, including mechanical and electrical disciplines, with some knowledge of CSA disciplines.


• Strong experience in reviewing consultant design and contractor construction documentation to ensure compliance with the design briefs.


• In-depth understanding of Uptime Institute’s Tier requirements.


• Experience in reviewing or producing tender documentation for data centre projects.


• Experience in project commissioning is preferable but not essential.
