Principal Product Manager - Customer Facing Experience (App & Web)

As Principal Product Manager in our Customer Facing Applications Team, you will be owning the product vision and strategy for your product domain and directly shape the experience for 8 million customers. Your decisions will have an immediate impact on customer lifetime value and the overall growth of Lounge by Zalando. You will be equipped to explore and implement cutting-edge technologies, including AI and personalization, to drive innovation and to take bold risks to learn and iterate fast.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  1. Focus on Vision & Execution: Define and champion a compelling long-term product vision and strategy for a broad problem space, while simultaneously driving rapid, iterative execution and delivery of impactful improvements that contribute to that vision.
  2. Fast Paced Innovation: Challenge existing paradigms and introduce outside-the-box solutions that leverage state-of-the art technologies, taking an MVP approach to smartly de-risk and ensuring speedy progress.
  3. Customer Obsessed & Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data-driven insights and experimentation to inform product decisions, always working backwards from a deep customer understanding and empathy.
  4. Owning Your Product and Team: Take full ownership for the ROI of your product and cross-functional team, including owning and managing the backlog, driving collaboration across the organization and maximizing velocity.
  5. Promote & Influence: Foster strong collaboration and communication across the organization, including senior management, to secure buy-in and support for your product priorities.
  6. Mentor & Shape: Coach more junior product colleagues and work with the wider product and tech community to continuously lift the bar in our product development and culture.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Proven track record in delivering impactful and innovative B2C products: You bring 7+ years experience in product management with the majority of your time spent on consumer facing products (e-commerce sector is a plus).
  2. Product management mastery: You have a deep understanding and competence across the entire product development lifecycle and can leverage a diverse playbook of methods across all 4Ds to identify & ship impactful product improvements.
  3. Highly analytical and structured problem solver: You leverage quantitative and qualitative data to identify customer insights, inform product strategy, and drive measurable results. You are comfortable working with ambiguity and structuring down any new problem into a logical framework others can follow.
  4. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills: You excel in communication and know how to navigate large-scale, diverse stakeholder landscapes to unblock execution.
  5. Experience working with applied science teams: Develop and launch AI-powered, state-of-the art product features.
  6. Fluent in English: (written and spoken).
