Who You Are

As Capacity manager you will need to ensure that all capacity forecasts/reports are maintained and shared with different teams/clients as per contract. You will need to chair monthly meetings to present the reports but also, ad hoc meetings when is required. These reports are a consolidation of data/inputs from different stakeholders. As a Problem Manager you will ensure that critical incidents have an RCA attached or a workaround and that all teams responsible are involved. You will also maintain/update the known error database.

This full-time and permanent position is based at ESOC in Darmstadt.

What You Will Focus on

• Be in charge of the Problem and Capacity Management Processes for the ESA Mission Operation IT Infrastructure
• Liaise with Service Design team, the Infrastructure Engineering Team and the Maintenance and Operations Teams to ensure an End-to-End flow of information
• Produce and maintain an overall Capacity Management Plan
• Monitor capacity continuously to support the service level management
• Maintain an overall understanding of current service capacity and trends
• Ensure that capacity-related incidents and problems are addressed
• Carry out the Process Manager responsibilities for the Capacity Management process
• Ensure reactive and proactive management of IT problems and known errors
• Owns the Known Error Database and ensures its maintenance
• Carries out the Process Manager responsibilities for the Problem Management process

What You Bring

• A university degree in Computer Sciences (or equivalent)
• The successful candidate will have strong results-oriented and planning capabilities, coupled with very good problem-solving skills and a pronounced customer focus
• Applicants shall have excellent communication and negotiation skills, be able to work in a diverse team environment and accomplish goals in line with team objectives
• ITIL qualifications (at least at Foundation level)

• Good time management and organizational skills
• A sound understanding of IT infrastructure concepts and technology
• An advanced-level command of English and an ability to present output in a clear, concise, and understandable way, both orally and in writing
