Your career as Procurement Category Manager HVAC

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Support proactively a region in Europe and its teams in strategic procurement and supplier relations.
  • Evaluate and update the category management strategy for a part of the IPCOM product groups.
  • Conduct market analysis, monitor market trends, new products, technologies, and supplier capabilities to identify potential sourcing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams of the various IPCOM group companies to create effective promotional campaigns.
  • Support cross-functional projects, e.g. related to sustainability.
  • Working on KPI’s according to procurement strategy and company targets.

Your profile

  • You are an expert in HVAC.
  • Proven experience of minimum 8 years as a Category Manager, Buyer, or similar role in procurement.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-player with excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional and international environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Powerpoint, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
  • You successfully completed vocational qualification in wholesale and foreign trade, industry, or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English. Additional languages - such as German, Spanish, French, etc. - are an asset.
  • Proactive driven and service-oriented attitude.
  • Ideally you are based in Germany (region Hannover) or Spain (close to an international airport) with willingness to travel frequently.
  • You are willing to travel frequently across Europe.

It’s a strategic function where you constantly balance cost, quality, and reliability. What I find especially rewarding is the level of trust and ownership – I’m encouraged to challenge the status quo, to look at the bigger picture, and to drive improvements that benefit the entire organisation. Whether it’s negotiating new contracts or identifying innovations in the supply chain, every decision has an impact. And that makes the work meaningful.
