Business Unit

BPA Tech specializes in optimizing travel logistics for organized and recurring corporate travel, working with companies in the airline, railway, cruise, and energy sectors. Leveraging AI-driven automation, it streamlines accommodation procurement, booking, and payment processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. A key focus is providing tailored lodging solutions for rotating workforces, crews, and field staff. AI-powered recommendations and automated booking ensure accommodations meet their specific schedules and needs. By automating procurement and payment, BPA Tech minimizes manual effort, driving cost savings and operational efficiency.

Position

As a Product Designer (all genders) for our Workforce as a Service solution, you are a critical member of the Product Trio, working alongside Product Managers and Engineering Leads to discover, validate, and deliver solutions that address real customer problems. You will be at the forefront of tackling the usability risk – ensuring our products not only work but are intuitive, efficient, and impactful for customers. Through close collaboration, strategic design, and user-driven insights, you will help shape products that deliver measurable value to both users and the business. Your solutions will leverage AI and automation to transform today’s tedious, manual processes into fast, seamless, and fully digital experiences.

Challenge

Usability Ownership: Focus on eliminating friction points in the user journey, ensuring designs solve real problems and meet user expectations with clarity and ease of use.

Tasks

Discovery & Hypothesis Validation: Partner with the two other roles of the Product Trio to identify customer problems, explore potential solutions, and validate hypotheses through user research and rapid prototyping.
Continuous User Research: Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research activities—such as user interviews, contextual inquiries, workshops, and usability tests—to uncover actionable insights.
Strategic Design Execution: Translate research findings into interactive prototypes and pixel‑perfect designs, ensuring usability and simplicity even for complex workflows, and initiating change initiatives through narrative document analysis (we use Amazon 6-pager method).
Iterative Delivery: Collaborate closely with engineers during implementation, ensuring design quality and consistency throughout the Delivery process. Ensure that the implementation is measurable, and that iteration only stops if the defined goal is achieved.
Design System Contribution: Enhance and maintain our proprietary Design System to ensure consistency and scalability across all platforms.

Requirements

Several years of experience in product design (B2B/B2C), simplifying complex processes into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
Strong expertise in usability testing and addressing the usability risk through hypothesis-driven design and continuous iteration, with a data focused way of working.
A collaborative mindset, thriving as part of the Product Trio (PM, Designer, Engineer) to ensure product success.
Proficiency in design tools and research platforms like Figma, Miro, Dovetail, and User Interviews.
Experience in user-centered research methods and translating insights into actionable design solutions.
Excellent communication skills in the English language, with the ability to advocate for usability and align diverse stakeholders.
A passion for agile product development and a clear understanding of modern Discovery and Delivery practices.

Location, Mobility, Incentive

This is a Berlin‑based position with occasional travel to our HQ in Cologne for team meetings. The attractive remuneration is in line with the market and, in addition to a fixed monthly salary, all necessary work equipment and mobility will also include an annual or multi‑year bonus.
