Product Manager - Cloud

Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region; candidates must be located in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the lifecycle of the product development by reviewing the priorities and goals.
  • Work closely with the engineering leads to oversee the product development process.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as engineering, design, marketing and sales to align on priorities and keep business execution on track.
  • Conduct market research, analyse industry trends and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities.
  • Develop your team through coaching, mentoring and training.
  • Establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate them across Canonical.
  • Drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement.
  • Contribute to strategies to create and maintain high performing teams.
  • Contribute to the success of our sales team in winning new opportunities by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings.

Qualifications

  • Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to the usage and/or management of open source software in the cloud native landscape.
  • Experience designing or managing software operations for large‑scale distributed systems.
  • Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker containers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of common enterprise security and compliance requirements in software operations.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive their execution to excellence.
  • Passion to write about technologies and experience in developer marketing.
  • A strong work ethic and personal interests aligned with the open source philosophy.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

  • Experience with CNCF projects, identity or observability systems.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and passion for the future of technology.
  • Strong sense of ownership over product and team success.
