Production Design Engineer

Expanding our SUNOTEC Mounting Systems‑Team in Munich , we are looking for a Production Design Engineer .

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and improve PV racking systems, with a focus on PV trackers and fixed‑tilt structures, as part of an international R&D team;
• Design mechanical components, develop new products, and optimize existing solutions;
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and technical documentation for mechanical components and systems; build and test prototypes, perform mechanical validation, and support product improvements;
• Conduct mechanical testing and analysis of components and systems;
• Collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and installers to ensure technical feasibility, manufacturability, and efficient installation;
• Provide technical support to customers, installers, and project teams when needed;
• Travel occasionally to testing facilities or project sites in Europe and other regions.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field;
• Experience in mechanical design or R&D, preferably with PV racking systems (trackers or fixed‑tilt structures);
• Good knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Autodesk Inventor) and MS Office;
• Experience with mechanical prototyping, testing, and product validation;
• Strong technical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently and in a team;
• Knowledge of German, Bulgarian, PV systems, FEM analysis, or tracker control systems is considered an advantage.
