What The Role Entails
The Special Project Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities for our various corporate development entities located in Europe including but not limited to Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Luxembourg from our brand new EMEE corporate office in Offenbach, Frankfurt. In addition, the Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities over data center entities with commercial operations. Along with the Chief Accounting Officer, the Controller, and Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for protecting company assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
What You Will Get to Do
- Prepare journal entries
- Performing account variance analysis and reconciliations
- Review invoices for proper coding and prepare for payment
- Reconcile and review all cross-company transactions and prepare invoices as required
- Preparing monthly payment requests
- Compilation of financial data and other audit requirements
- Assist with other accounting projects as required
- Support VAT return preparation in conjunction with indirect tax team

- In addition, the incumbent will demonstrate the following qualities and skills:· At least two (2) years of professional accounting experience
- Ability to complement and advise senior management at all levels
- Experience in creating and sustaining a culture of success through hands-on problem-solving
- US GAAP and IFRS knowledge preferred
- Consolidation preparation including FX accounting experience preferred
- Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks on time or ahead of schedule while maintaining accuracy
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities
- Communication skills that allow effective relationships with all levels of employee constituents and external constituents
- Experience with companies that value customer service
- Task oriented, results driven, and capable of multi-tasking in a very intense environment
- Proven technical skills with MS Office applications
- Experience with Yardi or similar software experience is preferred
- Experience with real estate preferred
- Excellent analytical, technical, and organizational skills
- Excellent work ethic and desire to “do what it takes to get it done right the first time”
- A strong desire to constantly seek ways to drive organizational improvement
- Must be fluent in either German or French as well as English
