Location: Frankfurt area, Germany (hybrid working: approx. 1-2 days in office, 1-2 days onsite for project work, 1-2 days remote)

About the Role

Our client is a growing, forward-looking renewable energy company specialising in developing wind, solar PV, and battery storage projects. They are seeking a Project Developer to join their team and play a key role in planning and delivering energy infrastructure projects while contributing to the transition to sustainable energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop energy projects from site identification / land acquisition through to permitting (e.g. environmental / building permit laws) and - depending on project - support through to commissioning.
• Assess potential project sites and create optimised layouts for wind turbines, solar PV arrays, or battery storage facilities.
• Prepare and manage permit applications under relevant legislation, coordinate with regulatory authorities.
• Commission and manage third‑party consultants (e.g. environmental / soil / planning consultants) and collaborate with external planners / construction contractors.
• Develop project schedules and budgets; monitor costs and manage contractual documents (public‑ and private-law contracts).
• Liaise with stakeholders including government/regulatory bodies, private landowners, community representatives, and project partners.
• Ensure project compliance with legal, environmental, and planning standards, and manage documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

What We Are Looking For

• University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field: regional / urban / environmental / landscape planning, geography, engineering, law, or similar.
• Several years proven experience in project development - ideally within renewables or infrastructure / energy projects.
• Good understanding of relevant planning, environmental and building law; or willingness to learn these quickly.
• Strong commercial and legal awareness, and ability to integrate technical, financial and regulatory aspects.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in German (written & spoken).
• Flexibility to travel occasionally for on-site visits.
• Structured, independent working style and team-oriented mindset.
