Overview

Project Engineer (w/m/d) – responsible for the mechanical detail planning of filtration systems for the Food & Beverage industry. You plan, develop and monitor the required internal and external processes to design filtration systems and deliver technical documentation aligned with technical requirements, within budget and with defined quality, together with our partners (suppliers). Key KPIs: Right First Time, On Time, and Process Compliance. This position is part of the Food & Beverage Engineering department and will be based on site in Bad Kreuznach, Germany to support the global Food & Beverage project engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for engineering activities in projects and advise the sales, application, and execution organizations on critical contractual requirements.
• Mitigate risks and resolve critical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Dimension equipment and piping, create P&IDs, prepare technical data sheets for pumps, vessels, tanks, valves, instruments and heat exchangers, and perform 3D piping checks.
• Apply a comprehensive understanding of international hygienic standards (e.g., EHEDG, ASME BPE, AWS D18.1–D18.3) and filtration, separation and cleaning technologies in the food & beverage processing industry.
• Manage technical changes in the project lifecycle and communicate all relevant information regarding costs and timelines.
• Act as technical expert and coach, develop the team, and support internal and external partners in daily tasks and technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Food Technology (B.E./B.Tech); M.Tech is an advantage.
• More than 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5–6 years in the detailed planning of plants in the food & beverage, chemical, biopharma sectors or in project businesses.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (approx. 20%).
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
• IT skills in MS Office, SAP MM&PP and CAD Viewer.

• Travel activity: approx. 20% nationally and internationally.

Nice-to-have Experience

• Experience with qualification activities (FAT/SAT) for process plants in the food & beverage industry or comparable areas.
• Experience with 3D CAD systems (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, Navisworks).
