Project Engineering Manager BESS (m/f/d)
Full‑time, Permanent, Kolitzheim, Germany
Responsibilities
- Design and simulate BESS systems, including electrical layouts, sizing, and performance modeling
- Ensure quality compliance through design reviews, standards adherence, and issue resolution
- Organize and maintain BESS‑related documentation in SharePoint/Drive repositories, aligned with the master register
- Support procurement with technical specifications, supplier evaluations, and FAT reviews
- Collect, review, and compile testing protocols and commissioning plans to align with client requirements
- Develop and maintain process tools and templates for calculations, documentation, and testing to support standardization
- Provide technical training to internal teams and external partners on BESS systems and processes
- Assist in preparing training materials for QA awareness sessions
- Assist Sales and Project Development by preparing technical proposals and performance guarantees
- Support communication and coordination by drafting emails, reminders, and summaries to ensure timely interaction among stakeholders
Qualifications
- Completed studies in electrical engineering or a comparable qualification
- Professional experience of 5 to 8 years in electrical engineering with a focus on energy storage and control systems
- Broad technical knowledge of electrical storage and control systems
- Experience with energy generation projects / technologies in the utility sector (photovoltaics and energy storage systems is an advantage)
- Design and simulation experience of BESS
- Basic knowledge of Design Simulation tools (Matlab, Python) to optimize BESS performance (nice to have)
- Interest in development and EPC projects, basic understanding of the German electricity market and grid connection challenges (nice to have)
- Strong IT skills: advanced Excel, good knowledge of MS Office; familiarity with design tools such as Homer or similar is an advantage
- Excellent written and spoken German and English
- Strong communication and organizational skills as a team player
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 25 %
