Project Manager / Policy Fellow for DGAP's Project ‘The macroeconomic and security dimensions of Europe’s Clean Industrial Transition’ (m/w/d)

for DGAP’s project ‘The macroeconomic and security dimensions of Europe’s Clean Industrial Transition’ in the Europe Center.

The project seeks to place Europe’s Clean Industrial Transformation (CIT) within the broader context of current macroeconomic, geopolitical, and security challenges. The project aims to help shape a new integrated policy framework that combines industrial strategy, targeted subsidies, and innovative financing instruments, while enhancing social acceptance and equitable burden-sharing across and within countries.

DGAP’s Europe Center aims to shape the European integration landscape. This involved both the European Union’s role and capacity to act as well as fostering bilateral relations as a lever to closer European cooperation. In that respect the Europe Center is looking at EU policy processes as part of German domestic policies and is advising the German federal government, Members of Parliament and regional actors in these fields.

YOUR TASKS:

  • Drive your own set of research/publication/events in close collaboration with the other fellows, the Head of the Europe Center and work collaboratively with other programs at DGAP and other partner institutions and researchers.
  • Establish contacts in the Bundestag and with other stakeholders on the EU, national and regional level;
  • Coordinate with associate fellows, research assistants and partner organizations;
  • Draft occasional reports to funders, meeting minutes and provide fundraising support when necessary.
  • Logistical and organizational support in other activities such as (European/international) conferences and background briefing formats;
  • Organize and follow-up of regular meetings on the project’s deliverables;
  • Administrative tasks related to the project;
  • Project management.

YOUR ABILITIES:

  • Completed Master’s degree focused on political science, political economy, economics or the like;
  • Strong interest in and working knowledge of EU economic governance and industrial transformation;
  • Prior experience working in public policy roles, central banks, think‑tanks, international organizations, or administration in these policy fields is a strong advantage;
  • Experience in project management, communication and social media;
  • Self‑starter with the ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced, international, and team‑oriented environment;
  • Flexibility to handle diverse research and program tasks;
  • Fluent in German and English both written and spoken.

The position is compensated in accordance with the TVöD Bund E13 pay scale. Due to the unique nature of the nonprofit sector, the pay grade is determined in accordance with the 2024 collective bargaining agreement for the public sector.
