Position:

Project Manager - Approval Planning Onshore Wind Germany

Salary:

€75-90K + bonus

Our client is an established European renewable energy developer/IPP with an international presence and over 2000 employees globally. They currently have a 10GW pipeline and seek an experienced Project Manager with approval/planning expertise to support growth in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the UK.

The Role:

As part of the technical Planning team, you will oversee approval procedures for onshore wind projects in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG). Collaborating closely with Business Development, Commercial, and Technical Asset Management teams, you will help optimize project configurations. You will act as the main interface with stakeholders such as experts and authorities, ensuring timely and efficient project approvals.

Responsibilities:

• Support wind energy projects from approval planning to construction readiness.
• Analyze projects for approval risks.
• Coordinate with authorities involved in approvals.
• Participate in public hearings.

Approval Management:

• Assist in approval planning and preparing application documents.
• Obtain and review expert opinions.
• Support the approval process actively.
• Evaluate statements from authorities, public bodies, and the public.
• Develop strategies to prevent approval delays.
• Advise the project team on licensing issues.
• Assist in opposition and legal proceedings with legal department support.

Candidate Profile:

• Degree in environmental sciences, spatial planning, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Proven experience in wind energy approval procedures.
• High sense of responsibility, initiative, strong communication, and teamwork skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of BImSchG and relevant legal/regional planning provisions.
• Knowledge of WindPRO, ArcGIS preferred.
• Experience in project management and team coordination.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
