Protection & Control Engineer (Schutz- und Steuerungstechnik)

Location: Onsite onboarding in Bavaria, Germany + hybrid afterwards

Start Date: ASAP – February

Workload: 35–40 hours per week

Duration: 12 months preferred (6–18 months possible)

About the Project

We are supporting a large energy‑sector organisation in strengthening its engineering team with experienced Protection & Control Engineers (Schutz- und Steuerungstechnik) .

You will contribute to high‑voltage and extra‑high‑voltage substation projects (110 kV and above) across Germany, working with transmission system operators, utilities, and power generation companies.

Your Responsibilities

• Engineering, design, and implementation of protection & control systems
• Supporting multiple substation projects simultaneously
• Coordination with grid operators, internal teams, and external partners
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant technical standards
• Supporting commissioning and testing activities
• Documentation and technical reporting

Requirements

• Ideally 10–15 years of experience in protection & control engineering
• Strong profiles with 7–10 years of experience and excellent references will also be considered
• Strong understanding of HV/EHV substation technologies
• Previous collaboration with TSOs is beneficial
• Fluent in German or English
• Independent and structured approach to engineering tasks

Work Setup

• Onboarding phase requires onsite presence in Bavaria, Germany (first 3–6 months)
• Hybrid work model afterwards (typically 2–3 remote days/week)
