Regional Security/ Loss Prevention Manager

Job Purpose Join this global retailer and provide subject matter expertise and regional operational leadership to support the security and loss prevention needs across multiple business divisions, with a strong emphasis on retail operations.

The role is responsible for protecting people, assets, and corporate reputation by supporting the implementation of regional security strategies, policies, and operational plans across Germany, Austria and CEE. The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders across Europe, the UK, and the USA to ensure security standards, governance and operational effectiveness are consistently maintained. Key Responsibilities

Security Strategy & Risk Management Support the implementation and delivery of regional and global security strategies aligned to business objectives. Identify, research, and monitor emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and risks impacting people, assets, operations, and corporate reputation, with particular focus on retail environments. Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and retail store reviews to ensure compliance with corporate security standards. Provide expert, balanced, and proportionate risk mitigation advice to business stakeholders. Analyse security data and intelligence to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.

Retail Loss Prevention & Asset Protection Develop and manage retail crime prevention and stock loss reduction initiatives. Provide strategic guidance and operational support to reduce shrinkage and organised retail crime. Monitor and evaluate guarding services, security supplier performance, and service delivery standards. Support new store openings, refurbishments, and retail expansion projects by embedding security by design principles.

Incident Management & Investigations Ensure security incidents are accurately reported, investigated, and resolved with clear recommendations and learning outcomes. Lead or support corporate investigations relating to theft, fraud, misconduct, or security breaches. Support major incident response and crisis management planning, including participation in crisis simulations and response coordination.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business functions, regional leadership teams, and global security stakeholders. Develop and maintain external partnerships with law enforcement, industry security networks, and professional associations. Act as a trusted security advisor to business leaders and operational teams.

Travel Risk & Event Security Support travel risk management programmes to ensure the safety and wellbeing of business travellers. Provide planning and operational security support for corporate events, executive visits, and high-profile business activities.

Operational Excellence & Innovation Drive continuous improvement across security operations through innovation, efficiency, and best practice sharing. Champion the use of technology and intelligence-led security solutions. Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and training initiatives across the region. Personal Competencies Strong collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence and inspire confidence across diverse stakeholder groups. Strategic and analytical thinker with experience delivering tailored, risk-based security solutions. High level of emotional intelligence and cultural awareness when operating across international markets. Ability to operate autonomously and exercise sound independent judgement. Diplomatic and professional approach to complex or sensitive security matters.

Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities Proven experience conducting security risk assessments across retail, logistics, and manufacturing environments. Extensive knowledge of retail loss prevention strategies, shrinkage control, and organised retail crime mitigation. Strong practical knowledge of electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring technologies. Ability to analyse complex security data and present findings to senior leadership. Understanding of civil, criminal, and employment legislation across relevant jurisdictions. Strong awareness of how regional cultures, customs, and operational environments influence security strategy. Experience managing corporate investigations, event security, and executive protection support. Demonstrated experience managing or responding to crisis and major incidents.

Experience Significant experience within corporate security and/or retail loss prevention leadership roles. Strong track record in asset protection, crime prevention, and operational security management. Demonstrated success in protecting people, assets, brand reputation, and business continuity. Experience working within multinational or multi-site environments.

Travel Requirements Regular domestic and international travel across Germany, Austria and CEE. Travel to additional regional or global locations as operationally required. Attendance at business sites during incidents or where specialist security support is required.

Budget & Resource Management Support the Head of Security in managing budgets and ensuring the effective use of financial and operational resources. Oversee vendor performance and service delivery to ensure value, quality, and compliance.
