Release Manager (m/f/d) - Augsburg, Germany

Job Description Location: Augsburg, Germany THE ROLE Join IGEL Technology as a Release Manager and drive the delivery of innovative software solutions that redefine the digital workplace. Reporting directly to the VP of Product Management, you’ll lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across cross-functional teams. As a neutral delivery coordinator, you’ll ensure releases are executed with transparency, predictability, and exceptional quality. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX designers, Software Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver synchronized releases across IGEL’s core product areas: IGEL OS, UMS, and Cloud Services. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Own the end-to-end release lifecycle, from planning to go-live.Maintain a centralized release calendar aligned with product roadmaps.Define and enforce release milestones, scope, and quality gates.Monitor timelines, dependencies, and risks to keep releases on track.Act as the central coordinator between Product Managers, Product Owners, Project Manegers, UX, development, QA, and DevOps.Facilitate cross-team alignment and planning meetings.Ensure synchronized releases across IGEL OS, UMS, and Cloud Services, especially for cross-functional features.Communicate release status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders, including leadership.Escalate and resolve blockers efficiently and strategically.Drive continuous improvement in release workflows and documentation.Foster consistency through standardized release practices and retrospectives. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFACATIONS Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, engineering, IT, or related field.2-4 years of experience managing software releases.Hands-on experience with software development processes.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, and QA processes.Proven ability to coordinate across multiple teams and domains.Exceptional communication and stakeholder alignment skills (English required; German a plus).Proficiency in tools like MS Project, Jira, or SharePoint.Strategic problem-solver with a knack for timely escalation.
