  • Salary: 25 hours: £17,839 - £19,014, 20 hours: £14,271 - £15,211, 20.75 hours: £14,807 - £15,782
  • Advert Wording: 1 x 20 hours relief post is for Holme and Colne Valley (including Honley, Golcar, Slaithwaite, Meltham and Marsden). 2 x 25 relief posts are for Dewsbury, Mirfield, Greenwood, Kirkheaton and 1 x 20.75 fixed timetable post is for Dewsbury and Mirfield.

About The Role

  • Welcome and support people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Help customers with enquiries, library resources, digital and council services.
  • Deliver and support activities and events for children, families, and adults – from story times to lifelong learning sessions.
  • Work with partner organisations and local communities.
  • Carry out administration and IT tasks to keep services running smoothly.

What We Are Looking For

  • Great customer service skills and experience of working with the public.
  • Good IT and admin skills – confident using computers and digital resources.
  • Ability to engage with people of all ages, from toddlers to older adults.
  • Positive, flexible attitude – willing to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work across different library locations (24 across Kirklees).
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed.
  • An ability to handle relief posts with variable schedules and to cover absences or projects at short notice.
